Every year, International Labour Day Celebrations are being organized by Pakistan Club. On the eve of International Labour Day in 2018, Pakistan Club organized a FREE MEDICAL CAMP at Pakistan Club premises. Different hospitals were invited to provide primary screening and consultation, especially for members and labourers. It was widely attended on both occasions. The event was organized in association with Al Hilal Hospital, Bahrain and later with Bahrain Specialist Hospital. The Chief Guest on the occasion was His Excellency Mr. Afzaal Mahmood, Ambassador of Pakistan, and Guest of Honour was Mr. Saad Rafiq, Community Welfare Officer, Pakistan Embassy. The participants were screened for basic vitals like Blood Pressure, Body Mass Index, GR-Blood Sugar check-up, GP Consultation and advice from Orthopaedic Consultant. Lunch was served.
A health awareness lecture was given to the participants for maintaining sound physical and mental health and about hygienic and nutritious food.
Later, due to the Covid-19 situation and restrictions, a medical camp as planned on the International Workers Day was not held. Due to the holy month of Ramadan, 100-Iftar and Dinner boxes were distributed to the Labour Camps. Pakistan Club joined hands with other community organizations from South Asian countries including India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and Sri Lanka whereby similar foods were provided to the deserving community members. Eng. Rehan Ahmed, Chairman, Pakistan Club represented the Pakistan Club at the location which was attended by the representatives of other community organizations from other countries.
